Breitling's new Super AVI series proves that 2021 is the year of retro chronographs

These watches are inspired by the four most iconic airplanes of the 20th century and are a gift for aviation enthusiasts.

Maybe it's because we have all lacked air travel in the past 12 months — or we miss the simpler time — but there is a real retro chronograph renaissance in 2021, especially the pilot chronograph.

Of course, Breitling has been at the forefront of this trend. This Swiss watch manufacturer has a long history of not only making precision chronographs, but also a brand that is inseparable from the aviation world-so it is not surprising that they will get involved in vintage chronographs. Surprisingly, Breitling worked very efficiently in 2021, and this year brought us a batch of truly delicious retro-style new products (or should it be an airplane?).

First, we launched the new Premier Heritage collection, a tribute to the bold design and aesthetics of the 1940s. Then we saw the famous Chronomat overhaul and the new Super Chronomat series, which is a modern update of the rugged 80s pilot watch.
