Philadelphia midfielder Cristian Maidana was ejected with a red card in the 82nd minute and the Union played a man down the rest of the game. Sebastien Le Toux cut the lead to 5-3 with a goal off a penalty kick in stoppage time. The Union (2-6-5) had snapped their franchise-worst nine-game winless skid with a 2-1 win at Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday.
