Marrone probably expected to land a head coaching job elsewhere after he opted out of his contract with the Bills at the end of the season. He reportedly interviewed for vacancies with the Jets, 49ers, Falcons and Bears. As part of the opt-out clause, Marrone will still get paid $4 million he was due from the Bills in 2015, as well as whatever the Jaguars are paying him.
