KAMPALA adidas superstar blancas negras , Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's league champions KCCA FC have named a squad ahead of the 2014 Council for East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) Club Championship.


The team included striker Brian Umony on their squad that will travel to Kigali, Rwanda for the event which runs Aug. 8-24.


Umony, who was dropped by Tanzania League Champions Azam FC last month and has made a return to the national team, will lead KCCA FC's attack at the regional tournament.


KCCA FC Secretary, David Tamale said Monday that they will open their campaign against Kenyan Champions Gor Mahia on Friday in what promises to be a thriller.


The Kenyan champions, who boast of Uganda Cranes players Daniel Sserunkuma adidas superstar blancas doradas , Godfrey Walusimbi and Geoffrey Kizito, are handled by former Uganda Cranes tactician Bobby Williamson.


KCCA FC, who last won the regional trophy in the 1978, will also field some of their new recruits in the tournament including Cranes defender and former Kiira Young captain Richard Kasagga.


Head Coach George Nsimbe said they will not be mere participants but serious contenders for the trophy. KCCA FC are pooled alongside ARP (Rwanda), Gor Mahia, Telecom (Djibouti) and Burundi's Flambeau De L'est in Group B.
